Orbital Bridge LLC has completed the Phase I STTR AF X21.S CSO project, better known as SpaceWERX Orbital Prime, and has been approved for project final payment and all deliverables were on time and accepted upon first submission.
The final name for the project was CoVAISAMO, or Computer Vision for Autonomous In-Space Assembly and Manufacturing Operations. The project covered developing a Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) Robot Operating System 2 (ROS 2) open-source utility library for a novel Space-based visual odometry solution that can utilize inexpensive COTS microprocessors and imaging hardware by integrating a novel state-of-the-art Visual Odometry Theory for Space (VOTS) based computer vision system into ROS 2 compliant libraries for commercial and governmental on-orbit deployment.
Orbital Bridge became an NVIDIA Inception partner, and utilized the generous support offered by NVIDIA to achieve all of the project goals. CoVAISAMO became one of the first “AI in Space” projects for the United States Space Force.
By finishing this project, Orbital Bridge LLC is now officially a US DoD Prime Contractor, with an assigned WAWF account, through which can process payments directly, like any other Prime Contractor. We consider this a major win, and are looking forward to exploring more opportunities with the AFRL and SpaceWERX.
