Orbital Bridge is a project to make low cost, high volume transport of materials into Earth orbit a reality. Low cost means less than $300/kilo of mass. High volume means up to 70,000 metric tons of cargo per year, per launch facility. Orbital Bridge is a set of patent pending technologies that include a novel launch system for durable goods, a set of technologies for managing cargo in a variety of Earth orbits, and a continuous launch system that allows for daily, hourly, or even more frequent launching of 2,000 kilo payloads into Low Earth Orbit (LEO).
Orbital Bridge was founded to make the visions of Space we were told about in the 1960’s, 70’s, and 80’s have a chance at becoming real. Orbital Colonies, bases on the Moon, asteroid mining, and cities on Mars have all captured the imagination of human kind for generations, but we have never had the ability to lift the many tens of thousands of tons of materials into orbit for even a single project. Orbital Bridge proposes to be the solution to the problem of lifting heavy mass, by doing it frequently, and two tons at a time, utilizing only solar power and distilled ocean water.
